Had a fairly amazing weekend and start of week... on Friday, my dad bought Ash tickets for Sunday, in a venue in Tunbridge Wells. It was a special gig where they played 1977... but I actually haven't started with the right one.
BECAUSE I SAW MUSE ON FRIDAY! *dances*
We were on the guest list, so we didn't know where we were gonna be. We got to the venue early, just in case we were in standing, and I REALLY needed to pee so I went into Starbucks and, guess what, huge queue. There was this woman that took, literally, ten minutes in there. Went to the guest list queue, and lo and behold, of course we weren't in standing. Seats it was, and as we started our really long trek around the O2 I had a sinking feeling that we would be right at the back.
But... well, we weren't! We were actually right next to the stage, the second row from the front, and we could see EVERYTHING. We also had VIP passes (we could only get into the bar, though. And... we only got ice cream, then went and sat down, so it wasn't exactly amazing, but I still rub it in the face of those arsey guys in my year).

Support were The Big Pink - really, actually, quite boring. They have this song, Dominoes, that is alright, but it's completely different to the rest of their songs, as we discovered when all of them sounded exactly the same.
Then we waited... and waited... we hoped Biffy Clyro were gonna be there, but they weren't. Sad times. BUT THEN MUSE CAME ON SO IT WAS ALL GOOD.
The set was fantastic. It's one of the best things I've ever seen on a stage (including Les Miserables and Patrick Stump doing impressions). There were three towers, and when it began there were lights onto it so they looked like apartment buildings, then there was this sort of projection with loads of people walking up the stairs, then falling down, and then the canvas fell down and Muse were in the middle of each tower! I mean, each of them had their own tower. They were on a raised platform, and then there was the top of the tower above them, and the platforms lowered so they could get off and run about like lunatics.
And the music was awesome too! This made me rediscover why I fell in love with Muse - they're barmy, yes, but it works so well, and the music is just brilliant.
AMAZING EVENING.
At the complete opposite end of the scale in terms of pomp and grandiosity, was Ash on Sunday. By no means less awesome, but I absolutely love small venues. I always get a little disappointed when bands move to arenas - they just aren't as good for the intimacy.
Anyway. This was, like I said up there, a special gig which they announced two days before, and they played the whole of their first album, 1977. The only letdown of the entire evening was (okay, the toilets sucked as well) this guy that kept talking to us and he would NOT SHUT UP. He had come by himself, but attached himself to us and wouldn't leave us alone. Goddamn.
Support was Panama Kings, an actually brilliant band. The guitarist recognised me and my dad at the front (oh yeah, no barrier again - another reason I love small venues!) and waved to us at the start... and we stole the set list and various other things off the stage. Like you do. Anyway, I really recommend you check them out, because they are really very good.
And Ash were awesome, as always. They played 1977, went off, came back on with acoustic guitars and a girl called Emmy, went back off, came back and did a sort of fan favourites/greatest hits set, went off, came back on AGAIN and finished off with Burn Baby Burn. I was really happy because they played my two favourites, Twilight of the Innocents and Petrol. We also got their set list and a guitar pick. We went away with our hands full...

As we were leaving, we chatted to the Panama Kings for a bit. I think my dad scared them a little...
ANYWAY EXCITING NEWS! There are three parts to this...
1. I passed my driving theory test. And have now booked my practical... argh.
2. I GOT AN OFFER FROM EXETER AHAHAHAHA. And I have to get AAB, I was expecting AAA so this is a good thing.
3. MY DAD WON A MEET AND GREET TO PARAMORE. In four weeks, I WILL BE MEETING PARAMORE. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Sorry, way overexcited.
Also... way behind in Nano and coursework and school stuff... but it's all about the music, baby!

Sometimes i feel like saying 'Lord i just dont care',
But you've got the love i need to see me through. ~
I'm busy, is the short story. I've been applying to universities and stuff, and it's been a bit manic. I have to do really well in my A Levels and I haven't been working as much as I should be, but oh well... it's just weird to think that I won't be living at home this time next year. :/
What about you? Did you go to college?

tbh, its hard to work when you need to. i'm in the Art department's Mac room at the moment supposedly doing research...
I did indeed go to college. it's amazing beyond work here. i can see why its meant to be one of the best in the UK

Aw cool, you have Macs at your college? I have one at home, but they just have Windows at school and they are constantly breaking. Plus they blocked deviantart (weird, considering I was one of about two people who ever went on it). Stupid blockers.
That's awesome! And you still want to do something to do with film? I remember something about costume and set and make up... or am I talking shit? (probably.
